Mother's Day corsages & boutonnieres are for children too! Either a red or white corsage/boutonniere is worn in honor of their mother. Traditionally the father is responsible for getting these for the children to honor their mother, but in recent years grandparents have also started to fill this role.

Just because it's artificial doesn't mean it has to look fake. Let the George's help you update your decor with an arrangement you'll have to remind everyone not to water.

If you are a woman who has no children of your own, don’t worry you CAN still wear a corsage this Mother’s Day! Wearing a corsage does not indicate that YOU are a mother, but rather that you are wearing something to honor your own mother. It’s traditional for the man in your life to provide you with that corsage, though certainly not a requirement if you need to do it yourself.

Did you know that the Carnation is the traditional Mother's Day flower? Legend has it that they first appeared on Earth from the Virgin Mary's tears shed over Jesus's death - making them a symbol of a mother's undying love.

Do you remember going to church on Mother's Day and seeing all the ladies wearing corsages? Sadly nowadays we are losing so many of our time honored traditions because we are not passing down the meanings behind them to our children. The traditional flower for the corsage may be a carnation, but the type of flower is much less important these days than the color of said flower. If your mother wears a white flower, it indicates her mother is deceased. If she wears a red or pin...k flower, it indicates her mother is still alive. You definitely want to get those colors right. Confusing them could end up with your mother answering uncomfortable questions from concerned friends! Wearing a corsage does not indicate that YOU are a mother, but rather that you are wearing something to honor your own mother.
