Another amazing arterial leg fix by Dr. Shirey

Georgia Vascular & Interventional 21.04.2021

This 59 year old female had seen four different doctors before coming to see Dr. Shirey for another opinion. Check out this before + after! I went to four different doctors before Dr. Shirey diagnosed what was wrong with my leg. I came to Dr. Shirey in extreme pain and my situation was critical. I owe my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Dr. Shirey. Dr. Shirey and his staff have me on the road to recovery. I am going to be fine now and I owe it all to them.

69 year old female with left leg pain, difficulty walking short distances, and left foot discoloration. The patient recently had a left iliac artery stent placed by vascular surgery at a nearby hospital 7 months ago. The patient presented with an occluded left common iliac artery stent as well as an occlusion of her left external iliac artery. ... Dr. Shirey was able to reopen the clogged stent, clogged artery, and definitively fix the patient’s blockage. The patient now has normal flow through her left iliac artery system. The patient's pain resolved and her foot coloration normalized after the procedure.

66 year old female with leg pain who drove over 60 miles to see Dr. Shirey. She had seen several other physicians yet nothing was done for her leg pain due to the significant nature of her artery blockages and complexity of the case. Dr. Shirey fixed the blockage via popliteal artery access (artery behind the knee). Her blockage could not be fixed from above due to the flush nature of the occlusion and a prior iliac intervention performed elsewhere by another physician resul...ting in stents placed too high above the aortic bifurcation. She also only had single vessel peroneal runoff below the knee with complete occlusion of the anterior and posterior tibial arteries limiting pedal access options. Dr. Shirey used an alternate access popliteal approach to re-establish blood flow in her thigh. Check out the before and after images! If you or a family member have leg pain and you’ve been told it cannot be fixed, call us for a second opinion at 678-688-8532.

54 year old female with right lower extremity pain. Patient had multiple long overlapping stents in the right SFA placed elsewhere by another physician. The patient developed severe in-stent restenosis and occlusion of the stents. Dr. Shirey was able to re-open the stents with atherectomy and angioplasty. This is a great example of why you should minimize stent burden whenever possible.
