GHCA applauds Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan, Appropriations Committee Chairman Blake Tillery, and Senate Subcommittee for Community Health Chairman Dean Burke for their efforts to safeguard long term care services to meet the needs of elderly Georgians amid the #COVID19 pandemic and in the future.

GHCA commends House Speaker David Ralston, House Appropriations Chair Terry England, and House Health Appropriations Chair Butch Parrish for their leadership in the passage of the House version of the proposed Amended FY 2021 State Budget which includes much-needed funding for Georgia’s skilled nursing centers as they continue to battle #COVID19.

Nursing centers are facing new federal mandates to regularly test residents and staff for #COVID19. To carry out this important task will require additional funding from the state as surrounding states have provided.
