Red Elephant Family, We thank you for adjusting schedules and engaging with Remote Instruction. The last week was successful and we continue to encourage you to be involved in your child’s learning process. While the local Covid-19 data is not ideal, we will be phasing our students back to school. Beginning Tuesday, January 19, all self-containedSpecial Education students and Pre-Kindergarten through Second Grade students will return to Face-to-Face Instruction. Studen...ts from 3rd Grade through 12th Grade will continue with Remote Instruction. Additionally, meals will continue to be provided on bus routes for all 3rd Grade through 12th Grade students. As we monitor the return, we hope to increase the number of students back in school the following week. Please reach out to your school if your child needs assistance. Thank you and we look forward to keeping our students, employees, and community as safe as possible. See more

Our team member COVID numbers have stabilized and reported student numbers have also decreased significantly. In addition, our contact-tracing activity (an indicator of future school district spread) is down dramatically. With these factors in mind, we will hold an In-Person Hybrid Schedule for January 19 22 for all of our schools, as outlined below: All in-person self-contained special education students will attend every day, 1/19 1/22. In-person learners with last ...names beginning with L-Z will attend Tuesday, 1/19 and Thursday, 1/21 In-person learners with last names beginning with A-K will attend Wednesday, 1/20 and Friday, 1/22 For the two days when in-person learners are home, they will continue to complete their lessons in a blended format. Virtual students will continue their lessons digitally as normal. Dual Enrollment Students will attend everyday. The district will closely monitor COVID numbers and spread and make a decision by the end of business on Thursday, January 21 regarding the following week’s plan. Meal delivery plans will be forthcoming. We will be intentionally re-teaching 200% Accountability practices to all students and team members. This plan for in-person learning allows teachers to connect with students, assess student progress, and provide in-person feedback to all learners. Additionally, it will allow HCSD to gather accurate student COVID numbers in a socially distanced environment. As always, if team members or students are not feeling well, or have any symptoms of COVID, please stay home. We appreciate your support in these trying times.

North Hall Lions Club Provides Spot Vision Screening Camera Through a Jackson EMC Community Foundation Grant, the North Hall Lions club has purchased a second Spot Vision Screening Camera for the Hall County School District. The Lion’s Club provided one camera last year. These cameras quickly screen for vision issues and will be utilized on the school system’s Eyes for Education screening days. The ease and quickness of the cameras allow school nurses to screen an entire el...ementary school in one day. Early detection of vision problems plays a key role in the education process. The partnership and support of the North Hall Lions Club and Jackson EMC shows that community involvement is crucial in helping the Hall County School System meet the needs of its students. Many thanks to our partners.
