Aap sab nu Vaisakhi tai Khalsa Panth sajjna divas diyan lakh lakh vadhaiyan jee. Vaisakhi is celebrated as the birth of the Khalsa. In April 1699 the 10th Sikh Guru, Dhan Dhan Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee Maharaj tested the commitment of thousands of Sikhs. The first five to pass his test were initiated into a new order, called the Khalsa. These five men came to be known as the Panj Pyare (five beloveds). Who are the Khalsa? Khalsa is the collective body of committed init...iated Sikhs. Khalsa means both Pure and King’s Own. The Khalsa represent the living form of the Guru and therefore are God’s representatives on earth. Sikhs are initiated into the Khalsa through the Amrit Sanchar ceremony, which is why Khalsa Sikhs are referred to as Amritdhari. Born to Bhai Jetha Jee (later Guru Raam Das Jee) and Mata Bani Jee (Guru Amar Das Jee’s daughter) in 1563, Guru Arjan Dev Jee shared a wonderful relationship with his Grandfather - Guru Amar Das Jee. Guru Sahib was very fond of His grandson and loved to play with him. One day, when Guru Amar Das Jee were resting, the child Arjan crawled towards them and tried to climb on to the bed. Upon seeing t...his, Mata Bhani Jee immediately tried to stop him but Guru Amar Das Jee arose from resting, and laughed. They held Arjan and lovingly said, Dohita, Bani Ka Bohita - Oh my Grandson, you will be the Vessel of Gurbani, a ship to take mankind across the terrifying world-ocean. These words stand true today - with a total of 2218 shabads, Guru Arjan Dev Jee has composed the MOST Gurbani in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee. See more

After the compiling and then assigning of Raags (musical modes) to Gurbani, in 1604, the compilation were sent to Lahore for binding. As soon as this was completed, Aad Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee were brought to Harmandir Sahib from Ramsar Sahib by Baba Budda Ji who carried the saroop on their head while Guru Arjan Dev Ji did Chaur Sahib seva (waving the Royal Fan above Aad Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee). Upon arrival,... Aad Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee were seated on a Manji Sahib (Respected Bedstead) and Guru Arjan Dev Jee sat lower than Them. Seeing this, the Sangat (congregation) developed the greatest respect for Gurbani (Guru’s words). Today we celebrate that auspicious day when Baba Budda Ji did Prakash of Sri Aad Granth Sahib Jee and the sangat were blessed with the following hukamnama: soohee mehalaa panjvaa | Raag Suhi, Fifth Mehal: santaa ke kaaraj aap khaloeaa har kam karaavan aaeaa raam | Vaheguru Himself has stood up to resolve the affairs of the Saints; He has come to complete their tasks. dharat suhaavee taal suhaavaa vich amrit jal chhaeaa raam | The land is beautiful, and the pool is beautiful; within it is contained the Ambrosial Water.
