Engine 9 is in the final stages of the production process and nearing completion. We look forward to receiving our 4th Sutphen Corporation custom pumper from Williams Fire Apparatus, INC in the coming months.

Engine 11, Engine 12, Engine 13, Truck 9, Engine 1, Tanker 1, MED1, Battalion1, Chief 1101, and Director 1100 are on location at a commercial building fire in the City of Greensboro. The fire has been contained to a single piece of equipment inside of the building and companies are working to remove the equipment from the building.

**11:13am** Westbound I-20 back open Cable barrier being repaired shortly once additional crew come in. ... I-20 west now open at Exit 138... The detour is coming out. Expect delays as traffic normalizes. Eastbound lanes may be affected at times due to the scene parameters. This could last into the afternoon. The crash scene is at mile 134.

Thursday’s are Special Equipment Day at the fire department. The fire department performs weekly checks on EMA resources that are housed in the same stations with fire crews to ensure that those resources are maintained in a state of readiness for when they are needed.

In the 1 o’clock hour this afternoon four county engines were actively working incidents across the county Engines 9 and 13 were extinguishing a 1/2 acre ground cover fire on Walker Church Road with Station 8-Walker Church Fire Department Engine 11 was extinguishing a vehicle fire involving a pine straw trailer on I-20 with Station 1-Greensboro Fire Department... Engine 12 was extinguishing a heavy equipment fire on Cato Road with Station 2-Union Point Fire Department

We just wanted to make everyone aware of the new concrete divider that has been installed on Lake Oconee Parkway between the Landings and Lakeside Baptist Churc...h. We have talked with GDOT about this and they have told us that they are not finished with this project yet. They still have to mark it and place the proper signage in order for the motoring public to be aware. We wanted to make sure that everyone was aware and to be cautious while traveling in this area. Today was a big step for Greene County Fire Rescue as the first ever group of full time firefighter candidates completed the physical agility test as phase one of their hiring process. Greene County has received over 30 applications for certified firefighter positions that will be going on line in the Spring of 2021. The future is bright at Greene County Fire Rescue and we look forward to what the next year holds.

Lake Oconee PKWY turn safety improvements start Monday The GDOT District will create safer, separated GA 44 left turns for drivers heading to Lakeside Church o...r Reynolds Landing in Greene County. Our striping crews will start work Monday. Besides the Wednesday holiday, it could take most of the work week to complete. They will mitigate delays as much as possible, but slow downs will occur given the traffic in this area. General work hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Once striping is complete, our staff will build the concrete island depicted in the design layout.
