Happy Lunar New Year! ("xin nian kuai le") means "Happy New Year," and today marks the first day of the Lunar calendar. The Chinese (as well as many other Asian countries) celebrate the Lunar New Years with traditions like dumplings, dragon/lion dances, firecrackers, and red envelopes. This celebration constitutes rituals in which the Chinese hope to bring good health, luck, and fortune to their families and friends. We are excited to wish everyone good health and true happiness during this Year of the Pig!

SEPTEMBER - known as the "Mid-Autumn Festival" or (zhong qiu jie), the Chinese have celebrated the harvest of the autumn full moon since the Shang Dynasty (c. 1600-1046BCE). Through traditions such as lighting lanterns or eating mooncakes, we honor this holiday by spending time with family and friends.
