The IEEE article by Antonio Trias on HELM that was presented at the IEEE PES meeting in July 2012 is now available for purchase online: http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/articleDetails.jsp. It is a must read for all those who desire a deeper understanding of our technology.
A video by Battelle Memorial Institute on the breakthrough capabilities enabled by Gridquant.
Some great press in GreenTech Media! http://www.greentechmedia.com//gridquant-new-math-for-the/
Our grid may not face huge problems like the blackout in India yet, but collapses in power over the past year reminds the US that our grid is getting increasingly complex and the infrastructure in place can't quite support it. If we don't make efforts to modernize our grid, do we risk the possibility of a power failure the size of the one in India in the future? http://www.washingtonpost.com//08/01/gJQAB5LDQX_story.html
It has been a busy busy summer for Gridquant and we have lot's of great news! Keep up with the latest at: http://gridquant.com/news/.
Is transmission the bottleneck to renewable energy? Maybe we can invest in upgrades to the transmission system rather than add lines? http://www.wiresgroup.com/docs/TransHub_CERA_072312.pdf
A large amount of transmission capital is being in California to integrate renewables into the grid. http://www.upi.com//California-to-link/UPI-68521342099937/
Looking forward to our first formal public technical presentation on HELM at the IEEE meeting in 2 weeks! http://pes-gm.org/2012/
There are certainly challenges in the west for transmission siting and policy change could help win half the battle. The other half needs to be won through intelligent systems (such as the HELM based ones) that are able to optimize siting plans. http://www.wiresgroup.com//TransHub_Incoming%20WGA%20Chair
Perhaps the key to success in the transmission industry is appealing to these JVs rather than individual entities in the market. This joining of players has the potential to increase complexity of the grid, but if managed properly with tools using HELM, we could see a very clear future in national transmission. http://www.wiresgroup.com//Trans_Hub_JVs_Facilitate_060112
Is the transmission system in the US a "ticking time bomb"? http://www.tulsaworld.com/business/article.aspx
with the end of "hub and spoke" model generation nearing, our transmission system should be prepared to handle this massive change to the grid: http://reneweconomy.com.au//solar-pv-will-do-to-grids-what
