"That is why your sacrifice was all the more difficult. You chose to be a hero not through enchantment but through your own manhood." . .... Saturated with gifted and skillful Bartenders, the city of #Atlanta can often become a difficult mine for opportunities within the hospitality industry. Hence the rise of Jamal Parker in the craft cocktail community comes with much celebration from his peers, establishments he's worked with, and spirit brands that endorse his natural ability to design cocktails for every palate. His cocktails are always delicately complex and understated, much like his modest personality. His insight extends to the form and functionality of brick and mortar settings, where he is sought after to consult. Beyond the cocktails he creates, the ambiance he builds within a venue, and the swag he has - Jamal's relationships with several different brand groups carries weight because of the consistency and quality of his work. Personally placed in highly touted restaurants, lounges, and bars; this king is a blessing to have on a team. . . Follow Jamal, an #Atlanta #entrepreneur, that can create any level of #cocktail experience for you. . . . Remember The mission: spend $31 dollars per week on a Black-owned business for the month of August. This is how it works: when you make a purchase, head over to www.blkaugust.com and enter your receipts. Reposted from @barsandcigarsatl Caldwell’s Long Live the King Cigar Review Robert Caldwell is the personification of a perfectionist. They are known for acquiring the best and rarest tobacco leaves and making masterful blends. Their Long Live the King doesn’t deviate from this. Its mix of Nicaraguan habano and Dominican ligero filler, Dominican binder, and age Corojo wrapper leaves are the finest in qualify. This combination should hold loads of flavor. As far as boutique br...ands go, @caldwellcigars is in a league of its own. -Initial Light and first 3rd There are quite a few things about the cigar that will most certainly attract you to it. First, the brindled deep brown outer leaf that resembles aged polished leather. The next is the texture it has, showing every vein and seem. Lastly, it’s the band’s artwork displaying a snarling juvenile king with a tilted crownor brim in today’s modern version. Prelight, there’s really good ventilation. The early flavors are of medium roast coffee, chalk, and a little oak. These flavors remain constant in the first 3rd except for the chalk transitioning to more of a saltiness later on. -Second 3rd The cigar has a wonderful aroma of leather and spice. Just so ideal for what someone would think a cigar should smell like. Opposite of the hearty aromas, the cigar smokes medium in body and strength at the moment. The leather is not only in the scent but the flavor profile. It has a good even burn, whitish-grey ash, and the releasing oils on the burn ring just shows the quality of the tobacco leaves. Lastly, black pepper comes in to finish up the middle portion. -Final 3rd Starting this last 2 or so inches, you settle in with dry dark chocolate with oak still being the primary flavor. The saltiness remains but now just at the very end of the finish. The strength is full now. As I continue burning down to the last inch and a half, pepper increase along with the cigar’s strength; actually so does it’s dryness at this point. It's like a nice pinot noir. Speaking of, that would be a perfect pairing for Caldwell’s Long Live the King. Try this pairing and let See more

"Sometimes you have to do something out of the ordinary. Sometimes you have to make a way out of no way. We've been quiet for too long. Now is the time to get in the way. We will be silent no more. The time for silence is over." #JohnLewis . . . Thank you, my brother, for being a voice for the marginalized and opressed. Thank you for your service to our country. We love you, Mike. ... . . . .
