We are finally indoors for training again! Unfortunately, the County still has not oped the Recreation Center for classes, so we have had to move. Our new location is in the Fitness 1440 gym at 3908 Winder Highway, Flowery Branch, GA 30542. Fitness 1440 has new owners, and we look forward to growing together. Watch for new offerings in the future, such as shorter-term self-defense classes.

A successful test! A special thanks to Kyoshi-Sei Griffin for getting me prepared and to Bart and Steve for the great time training together. Thank you to Some Ruiz for accepting me into the IKKU and for his incredible knowledge that he continues to pass on to all of us.

Holding classes outside harkens back to Karate's beginnings. Instruction often took place outdoors at night. We do it to stay safer, but it does help remind us of our heritage Here, we have new and old students, so there's nothing better than learning elbow strikes.

IKKU Summer camp will happen! There are several option from attending a half day to staying the entire time. Great training at every event I've been to and it could make up for some of the time we've missed from class.

I've received an update from the County regarding reopening the Recreation Centers. The earliest will occur around May 18th, but would not likely include classes. In the meantime, I'll be contacting everyone by text or email to work out our own plans.

No classes for the rest of the month. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. We will plan to pick back up in April, unless the County extends their closure.

Congratulations to Jeremy! Our first green belt of 2020. And an important promotion. Green belt signifies the halfway point to black belt.
