Great first day from Hazlehurst! Lots of great baseball under the lights and tons of families having a great time. I really think we have hit a homerun in South... Ga. Nothing but tons of complements and folks noticing how we make things about the kids. With all the positives I do need to get negative for a second. When you run a Free tournament there is very little room to still give out great awards, hire people to do highlights, pay good umpires and rent nice facilities. The only source of income to pay for all this is the gate. Unfortunately a large number of folks thought it was okay to come in and not pay. On top of this we had to take temperature checks and verify these by putting on wristbands. The park was also nice enough to allow Free motor home parking which takes a lot away from concession. Anyway everyone already knows this. I'm going to spend my time promoting the boys not walking around seeing who cheated. So here's the rule. 1. Anyone near the fields without a wristband will be asked to leave. You Will Not be able to go back and get temperature check or pay. If you get caught cheating you're out of the tournament. 2. I think the motorhomes is really cool. I also would like to be able to continue to offer this. If folks are entering the park and not having their temperature taken then motorhomes will no longer be allowed. 3. It's very simple, be honest and do the right thing and everyone will have a great time. If we get caught with people without Covid bracelets we will get shutdown. If you parked in the backfields you will need to walk around and enter through a gate with a blue tent. We will do Covid band checks before every game. Okay that part sucked. Reminder we have everyone's All Star Jerseys by our tent in the office. Now for some Great News. I've decided to do a Winter All Star Tournament in Hazlehurst.
