The story goes like this (in a farmgirl’s words) when Jesus was heralded on Palm Sunday He rode in on the back of a sweet donkey. At that time, the donkey did... not have a cross. The little donkey loved Jesus and was so proud to carry his Lord and Savior through the town. A week later, when Jesus was crucified, the donkey was heart broken. He stood in the back of the crowd and watched as his Jesus died, tears falling from his gentle eyes. The donkey could not bear to leave Jesus, so he stayed until the shadow of the cross fell across his back. From that moment on, the donkey carried the cross of Jesus to show his love for his Savior and King. On the third day, when Jesus rose from the dead, the donkey rejoiced and passed his beautiful cross markings on to all those that came after him. . So on this Easter Sunday, we think about our donkeys and the symbols of Jesus that they carry all year through. We wish you and your family a blessed celebration of the ultimate sacrifice and gift that is Jesus. John 12:12-15

Great news and another reason why everyone should love horses: "Recent studies conducted by the Institute of HeartMath provide a clue to explain the bidirection...al "healing" that happens when we are near horses. According to researchers, the heart has a larger electromagnetic field and higher level of intelligence than the brain: A magnetometer can measure the heart's energy field radiating up to 8 to 10 feet around the human body. While this is certainly significant it is perhaps more impressive that the electromagnetic field projected by the horse's heart is five times larger than the human one (imagine a sphere-shaped field that completely surrounds you). The horse's electromagnetic field is also stronger than ours and can actually directly influence our own heart rhythm! Horses are also likely to have what science has identified as a "coherent" heart rhythm (heart rate pattern) which explains why we may "feel better" when we are around them. . . .studies have found that a coherent heart pattern or HRV is a robust measure of well-being and consistent with emotional states of calm and joy--that is, we exhibit such patterns when we feel positive emotions. A coherent heart pattern is indicative of a system that can recover and adjust to stressful situations very efficiently. Often times, we only need to be in a horses presence to feel a sense of wellness and peace. In fact, research shows that people experience many physiological benefits while interacting with horses, including lowered blood pressure and heart rate, increased levels of beta-endorphins (neurotransmitters that serve as pain surppressors), decreased stress levels, reduced feelings of anger, hostility, tension and anxiety, improved social functioning; and increased feelings of empowerment, trust, patience and self-efficacy." ***This beautiful photo is by Andrew Ryback Photography, LLC taken at the World Equestrian Center - Ocala. We rescued these two from a hoarding situation yesterday! Mom and baby boy. We named mom, Mushu, and baby, Khan. Mom is around 12 yrs old and Khan is about 9 mo...nth. They are basically wild. Have not been handled and are not halter broke! Have never been separated and Khan was still nursing! We had a. Exhausting day yesterday to get them home safely!!!!! We had a heart wrenching day! We left numerous babies, mares that were pregnant and still nursing babies already. Rescues have been contacted but just a bad situation! Mushu and Khan will be in quarantine for 30 days for the safety of our other horses, so no visitors as of yet. But, we are beginning the hard work of halter breaking and weaning. While not underweight, they have not been vetted any contributions to vet bills would be a blessing!! All donations are tax deductible thru our nonprofit. Just click on the link below. Please share. https://www.healingwanimalsga.org/about-us We look forward to our journey with Mushu and Khan!!

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a horse," or, that's a lot of money for just a horse." They don't understand the distance traveled, th...e time spent, or the costs involved for "just a horse." Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a horse." ... Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a horse," but I did not once feel slighted. Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a horse," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a horse" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day. If you, too, think it's "just a horse," then you will probably understand phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise." "Just a horse" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy. "Just a horse" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person. Because of "just a horse" I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future. So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a horse" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment. "Just a horse" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day. I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a horse" but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a woman/man." So the next time you hear the phrase "just a horse" just smile, because they "just" don't understand. See more
