In honor of the lives lost on 9/11, firefighters from the Monroe County Fire Department are making their steps on the bridge at High Falls State Park this morning.

Today we mourn the passing of Captain Stan Elrod, a 28-year veteran of the Georgia DNR Law Enforcement Division. Captain Elrod was struck and killed by a motor vehicle the evening of September 3 while on duty and physically training in Danielsville, GA.
