At the time, these were simple requests from chi...ldren, however, looking back on these letters from today provides insight into the lives of children in this period. LaGrange, Ga., Dec. 8, 1921. LAGRANGE BASKETBALL UPDATE: The LaGrange High basketball teams will participate in the Region 5-AAAA tournament this week. The LaGrange Lady Grangers are the n...umber seven seed, and they'll play sixth-seeded Cartersville on Monday at 6 p.m., and the game will be at Cedartown. If LaGrange beats Cartersville, it will play third-seeded Sandy Creek on Wednesday at 7 p.m., and that game will be at LaGrange High. The winner of that game advances to the semifinals on Friday. The LaGrange Grangers are the region tournament's number three seed, and they'll host either Central-Carroll or Cedartown on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. If LaGrange wins that game, it will play in the semifinals on Friday against second-seeded Chapel Hill, and that game will be at Sandy Creek. NOTE: Teams need to advance to the region-tournament semifinals to qualify for the state tournament. Best of luck to the Grangers and Lady Grangers. - Kevin See more

THINC partnered with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build beds for children in Troup County that were without and with the help of 118 THINC and community volunteers, 50 children now have a bed to lay their head on. Thank you to all that came out to to support this worthy cause!

It was a great weekend for THINC DECA at their State Conference. In addition to making the top THRIVE level for their chapter campaigns, recognition was also received for THINC INK becoming a Certified Gold School Based Enterprise and theSPARK becoming Gold Re-Certified!

It is with great honor and humbleness that I announce my intentions to qualify again for the office of Troup County Tax Commissioner. It has been my privilege f...or you, the citizens, to allow me to serve the last 30 years. I take great pride serving all citizens of Troup County. The first 26 years serving in Law Enforcement and the last 4 years serving as your Tax Commissioner. I took an oath to the Constitution of the State of Georgia to collect taxes fairly and in an efficient manner. While serving as your Tax Commissioner I have taken pride with providing an open door to my office. Collecting taxes can be a difficult job at times, but I treat every citizen with respect and have conveyed this belief to my staff to be courteous to all that come into our office. When I ran in 2016 I set 3 goals: (1) I would open the tax office at 8:00am, as it was opening at 8:30am, (2) remove the automated phone system so when you called you would speak to one of us, (3) I would make our office more efficient and more customer friendly to streamline your time in my office. The changes were made the first day I took office. Other accomplishments I am proud of include: I took over the levy process of mobile homes so our office would relieve the Marshall’s Office from using their resources to assist in the levy process. My office collects our own bad checks where before they were turned over to a company that had no relationship with Troup County when I took office. I have a zero turnover rate in our office. Our collection rate is second to none in the state of Georgia. I was able to lower the convenience fees to use a credit card from 2.56% with a $0.30 transaction fee to 2.35% and no other fees for the benefit of citizens. I believe being elected you are accountable to all the citizens of Troup County and the three municipalities. I work hard every day and take great pride in helping with issues citizens may have when it relates to tax questions. I believe every decision I make as your Tax Commissioner fiscally should always benefit the tax payer and I diligently look for ways to cut money in our budget process. I do feel my success in part is because of the dedicated staff that I have and I am very blessed to work with each one of them. My office runs with a total of 10 employees counting me where other tax offices with a similar population have upwards of 15 employees. I feel this is another benefit to the citizens. In my first 3 years, I have been elected by my peers to the Georgia Association of Tax Officials (GATO) as the District Director for District 9 which includes 6 counties. I have also been elected to serve on the Constitutional Officers Association of Georgia (COAG) for District 8 which serves 7 counties. I am married to Kelly Story Frailey and have 4 sons (Luke, Wyatt, Jared, Cody) and 4 grandkids. I am a member of Callaway Baptist Church, Lions Club of Lagrange, GATO, COAG, Wellstar Insider, and President of the Troup High Alumni Association.
