Hinton Volunteer Fire Department-Hinton Georgia

A couple of days ago, Hinton Volunteer Fire responded with Pickens County Fire to a residential house fire in Hinton’s first due. Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke coming from all sides of a double wide mobile home with heavy fire coming from one side of the home. Crews made entry and began extinguishing the fire. The below depicted photos show the importance of closing your bedroom doors during the night when you are asleep. This will help save your life in the event of... a fire. Crews had a 9 minute response time from the time of dispatch. In times past, you would have approximately 20 minutes to escape a house fire but in current times, with light weight construction and synthetic materials in your furniture and flooring, you only have approximately 6 minutes to escape a house fire. In the pictures below, you will note heavy charring and fire damage in the first few pictures. The door depicted below was an interior door that was closed at the time of the fire but was forced by interior fire crews. You can see in the pictures that by closing a door, you reduce the fire’s flow path thus giving you more time to escape out of another exit point. See more

Good evening everyone, we are planning a couple of different fundraisers for Rocky. Our main one right now will be a T-shirt sale. The T-shirt’s will be a 50/50 blend and will be pre-sold. A design will be released by the beginning of next week along with a price. Shirts will be for sale for 3 weeks and will need to be paid for up front to allow for us to make sure we have the right size for everyone. Once the shirts are ordered and received, we will notify the buyer and they will be available for pickup. Please keep an eye out for this fundraiser

From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank each and everyone of you who purchased a ticket or donated money toward the purchase of the shotgun for Rocky’s benefit raffle. All 500 tickets were sold. Mr. Randy Southern was the winner. Congratulations Mr. Southern and thank you for your support.
