Horner & Nash is excited to announce the new addition of Dr. Ashley Davenport to our team. Dr. Davenport is a Georgia native where she was introduced to horses at a young age and grew up riding. She attended Young Harris College and received her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and minor in Chemistry. Dr. Davenport then attended veterinary school at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She went on to complete a one-year equine internship at Brandon Equine Medical Center in Brandon, Florida. Dr. Davenport’s professional interests include sports medicine and rehabilitation, podiatry and theriogenology. Dr. Davenport is still active in the dressage ring and enjoys participating in dog sports, including agility and frisbee, with her Australian Shepherd, Cooper.

Today is World Veterinary Day and the office staff, technicians and veterinarians appreciate and value all our clients and patients. Boehringer Ingelheim made an excellent video of why we love what we do at Horner and Nash!

Meet Cowboy!! He had a non-healing corneal ulcer that eventually led to enucleation by Dr. Erin a few weeks ago. He had his sutures out yesterday and was back in action on the trail.

Horner & Nash COVID - 19 Update: In order to protect our staff and clients, we have instituted the following protocol: *At this time, we are continuing to accept routine appointments and emergency calls.... *If you are sick, or have been in contact with someone who is sick, we ask that you reschedule any routine appointment. If you have an equine emergency, please let us know in advance that you have been sick or in contact with someone that is sick. *Per CDC recommendations, we are practicing social distancing as much as possible. This means no hugs or handshakes. Air high fives and waving are good!! *Please limit the number of people at calls. One person is ideal. For large barns, consider encouraging owners to allow the barn manager or barn owner to handle the call. *During this time, our staff may be more limited than usual. If you call the office and receive our voicemail during business hours, please leave a message, with your NAME and NUMBER. If you have an urgent question or call, please hit zero and using the answering system. If you need to pick up medications from the office, please call ahead so that we can have them ready and waiting for pick-up OUTSIDE on the front porch. Please only enter the office if absolutely necessary. At Horner & Nash, we take our health and social responsibilities very seriously. We will continue to monitor the situation and update you as needed, but our full intention is to continue to provide routine and emergency care throughout this time.
