In The Gap

Greetings from Bill and Patty Rickard! And, welcome to our Journey Group (JG)In The Gap". You may be wondering what the significance of our group name is. Well, some time ago, Pastor Ross spoke a sermon which included a message built around the Hebrew word, Ish-habinayim, which translates to "One who stands in the gap for others". Pastor's message resonated with uswe should be those people for others, however that looked. Not long after that message was delivered, we we...re invited to start a Journey Group and as we contemplated and prayed about a name for our group, that message kept coming forward. Hence, the JG name, "In The Gap". Long story short, we strive to be those people and want that to be the heartbeat and spirit of our group. Our topics of study so far have ranged from a DVD based study called the Truth Project, to a Book study called The Bait of Satan, and, in between, various devotional studies from the YouVersion Bible App. We try to take our studies somewhere between intense and light so that folks don’t get worn out from being in deep waters too long or get bored from only skimming the surface. And we also encourage our JG friends to submit to the group ideas of studies that they might like to have our group go through. Bill and I consider ourselves hosts and facilitators of this group but definitely not the only ones who are capable of leading a study and certainly not the ones with the most biblical knowledge in our group. This is an adult group. Ages represented in our group cover several generationswe welcome any and allmarried or single. We love having a mix of the generations as it promotes some really great discussions! While we do not provide child care, if necessary, you’re welcome to bring along a child that can be occupied with his/her own form of quiet entertainment so as not to be a major distraction for the group.
