3/12/20 3:15 p.m. UPDATE: Balloon Fest has been cancelled for 3/13-3/14/20. After taking into consideration a variety of factors and concerns regarding the health of the public during the COVID-19 Coronavirus global pandemic, and with the support of our community leaders, civic clubs and organizations and the Dublin-Laurens St. Patrick’s Festival Committee, it has been decided to suspend all St. Patrick’s festival events in Dublin-Laurens County beginning Sunday, March 15, 2...020. Ending on a high note, this weekend's Irish Balloon Fest will continue as planned on Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14, at Southern Pines Recreational Complex in Dublin. This event will be prepared to provide ample sanitation to attendees, and will follow all other CDC recommended guidelines. We deeply regret the inconvenience and disappointment this may cause our always supportive community, but appreciate the commitment in our efforts to best protect our area. Don’t miss a chance to come meet NASCAR Legends Eddie Spurling and Rex White in Dublin this Saturday at the Car Show at Southern Pines. Rex was most recently featured in the commercial for the Atlanta race this coming weekend. They will be in Dublin to meet and greet, sign autographs and tell some of their stories.

For anyone wanting to volunteer and help with the balloons this year here’s what you need to know. Please be at the volunteer tent by 4pm on Friday afternoon... 7:15pm. Friday evening 7am or before on Saturday morning 4pm Saturday afternoon 7:15 Saturday evening You’ll get a great hands on experience with these majestic balloons. Experience setting them up, chasing them and helping pack them back up. No experience necessary Please remember this event in contingent upon the weather both wind and rain.
