We couldn’t let Women’s History Month go by without honoring the mother of the internet! Dr. Radia Perlman has had a profound impact on the industry, developing the algorithm behind the Spanning Tree Protocol, which made the Internet as we know it possible. Since then, she has taught courses at University of Washington, Harvard University and MIT, giving keynote speeches at events around the world. She currently holds over 100 patents and has received awards such as the Lifetime Achievement award from Usenix and the Association for Computing Machinery’s Special Interest Group on Data Communications. Dr. Perlman was also inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame in 2014 and National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2016. #WomensHistoryMonth #WomenInTec
