Regardless of what you do, what you believe, or who you voted for, there are those who served, suffered, and died for your right to do so in the United States of America. The greatest country on Earth is served and protected by some of the greatest people on Earth, the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines of the Armed Services. Happy Veteran’s Day to all the swabbies, snuffies, ground pounders, and leathernecks! Be sure to thank a veteran today. God bless America! Russell T. McMahan Sr. USS Louisville, 1944-1946 WWII, South Pacific
Here is to one of the toughest, sweetest ladies to have ever roamed these earthly bonds, Marilyn McMahan. She was a loving wife, a fantastic mother, and the best Granny anyone could have. She was funny and kind, she loved to cook, and she was loved. She has laid down her burden, and she is with her loved ones in Heaven. Rest In Peace, Granny. You loved us, we loved you. 1930-2020

The Venue at Sharp Mountain in Jasper, Georgia was a trail host for The Sheriff’s JeepFest 2019 (Rocky Ridge) and is open once again in 2020. Experience our trails and obstacle courses while showing your support for CARES for Pickens County and Bethany Place/Merismos Ministries. There are numerous trails covering The Venue's 500 acres that are located at the base of Sharp Mountain. Here, participants and spectators will be able to take in the mountain's scenic views and meandering creeks, obstacle courses along with mudding and rock crawling. Our Night Ride will take place on October 23, 2020 at 6:30 PM at The Venue. After the Night Ride, Jeepers will caravan down 515 to Rocco's Pub, who has reserved their parking lot for mingling and will open their restaurant for Jeepers. Advanced reservation for dine-in seating is required. Local Legends is the scheduled band for the night. On October 24, 2020 from 10 AM - 6 PM will be the main event at The Venue.
