Fact: Will a COVID-19 vaccination protect me from getting sick with COVID-19? Yes. COVID-19 vaccination works by teaching your immune system how to recognize and fight the virus that causes COVID-19, and this protects you from getting sick with COVID-19.... Being protected from getting sick is important because even though many people with COVID-19 have only a mild illness, others may get a severe illness, have long-term health effects, or even die. There is no way to know how COVID-19 will affect you, even if you don’t have an increased risk of developing severe complications. Learn more about how COVID-19 vaccines work. Jefferson Hospital encourages you to receive your COVID-19 vaccine upon eligibility. Please consult with your primary care provider regarding questions and concerns. The information above was gathered from the CDC at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavir/2019-ncov/vaccines/facts.html.

We are continuing to make progress in the north wing with the support of the Rural Hospital Tax Credit Program and the Rural Hospital Stabilization Grant. The renovated space will house a 10-bed adult behavioral health unit and intensive outpatient behavioral health program. We are very excited to be able to offer these services to Jefferson and the surrounding area in the near future.
