NOT A SOLICITATION, LOOKING FOR FEEDBACK REGARDING LEGAL FEES: I was at an interesting conference regarding legal marketing. The jist of the presentation was that millenials like to do it themselves and want legal services to be fast, cheap, easy and in tandem with do-it-themselves. There was also a presentation of what they called unbundling of legal services; that is not providing soup to nuts representation , which is what my firm currently does. Based on this I'm conside...ring offering an option to my standard full service representation. It would be $1500 for a marriage based green card applicaiton, The client would bring in all of their forms already completed with copies of all of their documents. The $ 1500 would include a full consultaiton to review their case, a review of the forms with recommendations for what if anything they might need to change and a sample cover letter to package it and submit it to USCIS. I would do a letter to the client specifically limiting the scope of the representation to just those aspects of the representation. I'm also considering doing the same for a citizenship application for $ 1,000. I'm interested in people's thoughts on this. As a Canadian is this an attractive option to hiring an attorney for a full representaiton? Again, please know this is not a solicitation, I'm just curious about people's thoughts on the concept? Thanks in advance. Joe Rosen

THE IMMORAL NATURE OF IMMIGRATION IN THE US TODAY. Matter of A-C-M-, 27 I&N Dec. 303 (BIA 2018) From a fellow immigration attorney: To all of my non-immigration lawyer family and friends: maybe you are sick of my posts but I honestly feel like it’s my moral duty to tell you what our government is doing to human beings in our names! Today, the Board of Immigration Appeals decided that a person who is a SLAVE of a terrorist organization - yes, a SLAVE - and who, as a slave, is... FORCED to cook and clean for her terrorist captors, has provided them with material support and therefore, her application for asylum must be denied and she should be deported to the country where her terrorist slave owners are! Oh, and while she is being held by the terrorists, they make her husband dig his own grave and then they kill him, all while they forced her to watch! I want to scream! And, by the way, because this was the Board of Immgiration Appeals, that means that this is now the LAW for the whole country unless and until it is appealed and a higher court changes it! See more
