As black history month comes to a close and we head into women history month, we would like to acknowledge one of the most respected black female entrepreneurs; Madam C.J. Walker. (Born Sarah Breedlove) What a fitting name for a woman who would transform history in numerous ways. Mrs. Walker was the first woman self-made millionaire. After suffering from a scalp ailment that resulted in hair loss, Madam C.J. Walker invented a line of African American hair products and traveled doing lecture-demonstrations, and eventually established Madame C.J. Walker Laboratories to manufacture cosmetics and train sales beauticians. Today marks one month to Black Friday, so it's time for ecommerce store owners to prepare their stores and sites for the influx of traffic. Estimates indicate that "ad spending on ecommerce properties will be up 38.8% from 2019an acceleration of spending growth, thanks to the pandemic. By the end of this year, ecommerce channel advertising will represent 12.2% of US digital ad spend."

Research from e-commerce tool Remarkety shows that consumer spending is likely to increase for every holiday this year, including upcoming Halloween! If your e-commerce business has pivoted to offering seasonal dealt or has created social marketing tactics, this holiday could be a great way to test customer engagement before the big Black Friday weekend.

We're a little over a month away from Black Friday/Cyber Monday, the busiest weekend in e-commerce.
