I know I sound like a broken record but... In these days of having everything delivered, PLEASE support small business' and restaurants as often as you can. Over 160000 small business have closed this year due to Covid 19. 800 per day.
This lady scared the poop out of me while I was harvesting. She got mad and came at my shears.
Thank you everyone for your suggestions and good wishes. Farming in the time of Covid has been a guessing game. You plant what you think people will want. I have gotten pretty good at it after 10 years of mistakes. Restaurants are easier because they plan a menu and you can simply grow what they need. Unfortunately, sales in the Statesboro Market 2 go have dropped. Many people are having a hard time making ends meet... so i understand. We live in some strange times.....
This is a Yellow Garden spider. These hatch, mate, and then are gone again. They make giant webs and catch allot of garden pests.
This is one reason we don't spray pesticides. This is a Wolf spider. It hunts insects and does not make a web. I have never been bit even when i scoop them in my hand and move them when I harvest.

Farm update: We currently have only 3 clients. We had 11 before Covid. We have cut costs in order to survive. Our goal now is simply to get past January without moving into a tent. I am a great believer in "Things happen for a reason". I know that one day recent events will have steered me onto another path. Hopefully my path will include farming.
Great friends and good people. You support farmers also when you support local restaurants in Savannah.
