Almost two years ago we kicked off the book release tour for Kelly's book, "True Believer: The Journey of Kelly Codling". Kelly spent years working with local author Bowen Craig of Bilbo Book Publishing to produce the biography. The book is available online and we still have a few copies left at the 5 Points restaurant - Come by and get a signed copy from Kelly! Kelly wants everyone to know that he truly appreciates everyone's support! Thank you all again! Stay safe! htt...ps://www.amazon.com/True-Believer-Journey-K//0998162701 From Bilbo Publishing: The book tells Codling’s incredible life story and even includes authentic recipes. Samples of Kelly’s authentic Jamaican food will be available to try. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Kelly Codling is the owner and founder of Kelly’s Jamaican Foods and Kelly’s Authentic Jamaican Food in Athens. Local author Bowen Craig worked with Kelly Codling to record his life story from his early years in Jamaica to his present work in Athens. From his upbringing as a rural farm kid in Trelawny, Jamaica, to owning multiple restaurants in Athens, Kelly's wild and curvy path to success is littered with interesting stories: his days of successfully gambling on "the ponies" in Maryland, his time driving a cab and working in a hospital morgue in Washington DC, the painting business he ran with a descendant of Edgar Allan Poe in Texas, and the many naysayers along the way who told him he "couldn't do it." Through it all Kelly's unwavering belief in the goodness of God and in his own abilities has sustained him. Enjoy his stories. Learn some Jamaican patois. And don't forget to try out some of the recipes for his signature dishes included in his book, including Jerk Chicken, and Jamaican Spicy Squash.
