Let's get fruity Today the Bear Cubs talked about different types of fruit. The children were encouraged to explore the whole fruit and then eat the cut up fruit. Goal: interact with plants and animals

The lions were flipping through magazines to look for things that start with the letter "Jj" I then encourage the children to work on their fine motor skills to cut the picture out

Outdoor play can boost activity levels, which is obviously a good thing. Kids need cardiovascular exercise for good health. There's also evidence that exercise benefits a child's cognitive performance.

The development of social and emotional skills are essential and provide a foundation for a lifetime of learning and positive relationships. These skills are developed through positive, secure and reciprocal relationships with others including, primary caregivers, with other adults such as teachers, and with other children. Gross motor skills continue to develop throughout childhood. All of our teachers take Outdoor Adventures as more than just recess: they see it as a chance to observe, work on, and challenge each child's physical growth. It is also a perfect opportunity for social and emotional growth as our students play with each other to learn teamwork, sharing, patience, empathy, and healthy competition.

Spatula Art Today the Giraffes had fun using a spatula to make art! Learning Goal: use simple tools as props through play.

Counting cubes are great because as your child works on patterning, counting, sorting by color, and operation skills, the square cubes build fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination, too.
