We are SO proud of Laurenz Oriondo for winning this year's KSU Concerto Competition! Laurenz is currently in his Junior year as a Tuba Performance major, and is the absolute definition of hard-working student in addition to being an excellent musician. He will perform the Gregson Tuba Concerto sometime next year post-COVID restrictions, hopefully. We'll keep you posted so you can check it out. Congrats on your win, Laurenz!! This afternoon, we wrapped up a socially-distanced recording session for next week’s OcTUBAfest concert. Only one quartet allowed on stage at a time, distanced, masked, cleaning done and time left between recordings, etc. Then we briefly came back to record our only large ensemble piece (6+ feet apart, etc) to finish the day. It was really special getting to see and hear all of our students in one place for the first time this year! We’ll stream the concert videos here on Sa...turday, Oct. 24th at 6 PM.
