Just a quick post for today as we transitioned back to Jacksonville today. We took our time, translation, weren’t in a rush to leave this morning. We stopped b...y the hoarder house and were amazed at how different the yard looked after our new friends came by and picked up some of the scrap metal. The guys filled up their truck with scrap metal and still have more to pick up that they have staged off in another area. They haven’t even been to the barn yet. There is still a fair of amount of cleaning up to do, but nowhere near as bad as it was just yesterday. On our way out we finally stopped at Leaf Grocery and Deli for a breakfast sandwich. I didn’t even know this place existed until I was Google map searching for the place we went to dinner the night before and stumbled on this little gem located in a gas station of all places. It is a hole in the wall made from scratch place that serves breakfast and lunch every day except Sunday and even serves onsite made smoked BBQ for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. We had driven by the gas station many times and I always wondered why there were always so many cars there. Now I know why. They make made from scratch biscuits every day. We had the biscuit sandwich with eggs and sausage. It was delicious! We ate it on our way down the road. I think we have found a new stopping place for our getaway breakfasts, and probably a BBQ dinner too. The phone was ringing off the hook and they had a steady line of customers coming in to pick up some breakfast. They obviously have a local following. Thankfully the drive through Atlanta was uneventful. In fact, the only trouble we had was about 20-30 minutes of driving literally 5mph near Locust Grove GA. Up ahead we could see two state troopers leading the line. We have no idea what the issue was but assume ahead of them was either a hazardous escort or some super wide load that needed an escort. Either way, the issue vanished as quickly as it started with no crashes or issues seen. We stopped at an Ingles to gas up. They have the rewards program that gets you money off gas prices. We shop at Ingles whenever we are in North Georgia and doing our cooking in so last month we racked up .20 cents a gallon off that expired today. While we were there we decided to make a pit stop and get a sub to eat later so we wouldn’t have to stop again. Once we hit the Florida border we ate our sub in the car while driving just to get on home. The weather here in Jacksonville was a delightful surprise. It took us a bit to get the car unloaded, and we didn’t even break a sweat! First time that has happened in over six months. Maybe Fall is officially here after all. It was a good day. No pictures today.
