BE HONEST: how many times have you cracked open your Bible since quarantine began? And why not? Maybe the idea of reading scripture seems daunting. It does have a lot of names that are incredibly hard to pronounce, maybe a lot of thee's and thou's. And sometimes it might even feel like you're reading in circles! BUT! Scripture is our story. Full of action, intrigue, romance, failure, a few boneheaded ideas (I'm looking at you, Jonah) and the GREATEST story of victory. Scri...pture teaches us that God never leaves us. He is always with us and providing for us even when it doesn't feel like it. CHALLENGE: can you name all of the Biblical stories in this video and what book you can find them in? #skitguys #biblebrainstorming #canyounamethem #openthatbible #fulloflife #lcumcyouth

In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8 Even though we find ourself at home, I think even in this place of comfort we can struggle to find peace. We can scroll through social media and see that this world is anything but peaceful. I pray we seek to lay down, wrapped in the peace that God can provide. With whatever may be pulling at us or dragging us down with anxiety, I pray we seek to find God’s comfort. Light a candle, turn on some worship music, journal, or just repeat the Psalm above. May you find rest, comfort, and safety in our God today. What can you do to find peace today? What would it take to let go of what may stress you out, even if just for a moment?

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13 A few weeks ago, I found myself recording a children’s devotional that included cracking confetti filled eggs...All over the place...Especially since I did it over and over again. It was a complete mess. When I finished, I couldn’t help but smile though - this huge, beautiful pile of colors surrounded me. I pray you’re filled with hop...e today. Even in the messiness of this life, I pray you find something that makes you smile, something that makes you realize beauty is still possible. Even now. Where do you see beauty in this world today? How is God bringing you hope?

Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. Psalm 139:16 I recently went on a walk on a trail close to my apartment. I found myself winding through many different turns, trudging up hills and fighting fallen limbs and the ever-present pollen. In looking at this picture it’s hard to know what’s farther down the way, because I’m here, right here on this path. No matter ...how much I wish I could prepare myself for whatever lies ahead, I am here, right here. The present time is really really tough. Man I wish I had known this was coming - I would have prepared in such different ways. But I’m here, right here - because on this day that the Lord has made, He will meet me here. God is working within this day. Right here. Are you watching for it? Are you looking for what He could be doing? What are you doing to focus on the present, even if it isn’t the most ideal present we are living within? What can you do to help relieve the worry of what may come or what is out of our control?

Be still and know that I am God...Psalm 46:10 It’s okay to be upset about what’s going on. We have all had our worlds shifted in the last month, and we are all grieving the loss of things we expected to happen. But even in this sadness, in the places that seem so uncertain, God can be found. He doesn’t cause the chaos, but he can work within it. Maybe we just need to take this time to slow down, breathe, and remember who God is. Provider, Protector, Savior and Friend. Comfor...t, Strength, Peace, and Hope. How are you feeling in this time? What do you feel like you’re grieving? Where do you see God in the midst of it all? Who is He to you, right now? I love and miss y’all. Heather
