Another Five star review for Neuro LIFE Institute. Thank you Hailey for the great 5 star customer review! "I honestly cannot say enough things or write enough words to explain how amazing Dr. Longyear and his staff are. I went in knowing this could change me but not to the extent it did. I feel like I got a part of me back I’ve been missing for so long. Dr. Longyear and staff genuinely care about their patients and the passion is felt the second you walk through the door. They serve you in more ways than one and really help you to understand every part of treatment. I think everyone would see life in a better light after their care! "

Check out the Oz report guys. This kid is amazing. He is on a journey with his dad filming a movie and he decided to creat his own kind of behind the scenes thing. He truly is amazing. Also check out Backbone Movie on Facebook to see the journey of both movies unfold.

A traumatic brain injury (TBI) is defined as a blow to the head or a penetrating head injury that disrupts the normal function of the brain. TBI can result when the head suddenly and violently hits an object or when an object pierces the skull and enters brain tissue. A study found out that Tai Chi may improve global cognition and different specific cognitive domains in older (55 years old or more) traumatic brain injury patients; the Tai Chi’s effect may last for at least an additional 6 months. The combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual’s distinctive character is called Personality. A study found out that some personality traits affect Grey Matter Volume specifically in males. In other words, Gray Matter Volume similarities were not found between females with similar personality traits but they were found in males. These results indicate that brain structure-personality relationships are highly dependent on gender, which might be attributable to hormonal interplay or differences in brain organization between males and females. Did you know the benefits of Yoga have been proved to benefit specific conditions over and over again? Essential Tremor is the most common Movement Disorder there is among the population. It is a condition that causes tremors in the hands, the head and sometimes the voice. The tremors in Essential Tremors are most prominent when using the hands, so these patients often have difficulty writing, drinking and eating. In a study made by Vance NE, Ulanowski EA & Danzi MM (2019) subjects demonstrate tremor reduction by a mean of 15.3%. They also demonstrate balance improvement by a mean of 10.8%. These improvements were made after the subjects were part of a 1-hour weekly Yoga class (Vinyasa style) for 8 consecutive weeks.

Does your body move when you don’t want it to? Dystonia is a movement disorder that causes sustained muscle contractions, abnormal postures and repetitive twisting movements. It is also frequently associated with pain. To deal with the distonic movements, patients (90% of them) commonly adopt specific gestures called sensory tricks that consists in for example, touching certain parts of the head which temporarily reduces the involuntary movements (Jahanshahi, 2000; Schramm, R...einers, and Naumann, 2004; Velickovic, Benabou, and Brin, 2001). Some patients present reduction of involuntary movement just by imagining that they are performing the sensory trick (Greene and Bressman, 1998). This suggests central modulation and confirms the huge importance of focus and brain training when it comes to complex neurological issues like this one. Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized primarily by loss of dopamine neurons in the substantia nigra. People with Parkinson’s disease experience tremors, gait and balance problems (among other movement challenges). A research conducted by Mickeviien et Al (2014), found that by accelerating the pace of workout on the treadmill (keeping it safe but still challenging) there was a substantial improvement in the quality of lives of the subjects after engaging in this activity for at least 16 times (when practicing four times a week). When speaking about quality of life, the study took into consideration mobility, daily living activities, emotions, disgrace, social support, cognitive function, communication, physical discomfort. Learning a second language is an obvious challenge for your brain. So, if you are looking for new brain training that is also useful and super fun, learning languages is always a great option. It is especially important to note that you are not only learning new sounds and words but also new ways to see life. This is evident in Spanish for example, in which there are different levels of love: -Te quiero: Means I see you and you are special to me (it can be used betw...een friends, classmates and coworkers for example; it is not limited to romantic partnerships). -Te adoro: Means I see who you are and I treasure it deeply, you are definitely important (most commonly used in romantic love although not limited to it either). -Te amo: Is the maximum verbal expression of love (usually used between family members and it can be very important and definite when used in romantic relationships).
