Lily's Garden of English Bulldogs 03.11.2020

Ruby is currently our oldest bulldog. She is 12 years old which is a couple of years older than the average lifespan of a bulldog. She is totally and complete...ly deaf but it doesn't seem to bother her a whole lot. We still talk to her just like she could hear. She was Leo's sister and was from our very first litter of puppies. Rose was her mother. See more

Bonnie is now 11 years old and was from our 2nd litter. She was Lily's baby. While she is almost as smart as Lily, she certainly didn't get Lily's disposition.... Bonnie has always been willing to fight at the drop of a hat and she would even drop the hat herself if she felt like it. She has slowed down a little bit over the years so she doesn't have quite the dominance over the other girls that she used to. She never bothered Lily and she certainly never bothered Leo. She just didn't realize that Leo was not a fighter at all. If the girls ever got in a fight and we started yelling at them to get them to quit, Leo went the other direction; he didn't want any of the fight or the yelling! See more

Our dogs are well trained. Lily is inspecting a UPS shipment while Bonnie stands guard.

If you were laying or sitting next to Lily on the sofa or love seat and you got up for some reason, you could count on her to move into the spot you had just le...ft. Evidently it was warm and snugly from where you had been sitting. This is what happened in this picture. Janice had been laying on the love seat in front of Lily. She got up but was coming right back and Lily slid over to the place she had just left. See more

A lazy Sunday afternoon just made for snuggling and napping. Lily and Janice.

Leo could really give you some looks. Sometimes it looked like he was about to get into a deep conversation with you on who knows what topic. He was a special dog!

Carrie and Dee. Carrie is about the only other person that Dee will let hold her this way (besides me that is). She seems to be smiling in the first picture.

Another picture of Dee. She is giving us her serious look on this one.

She wasn't much for being woke up from a sleep. She would wake up but just might roll over and go back to sleep.

This is Lily. She was the first of our English Bulldogs and I will have to admit, she was also the most spoiled. We loved her very much and catered to her every whim. She was the best dog and was definitely part of the family. She was a good mother to the puppies in our 2nd litter.

Leo, doing what bulldogs do best, laying around and being lazy. Bonnie is looking out the door wanting to get out. Leo was a male. We never intended to keep ...any of the male puppies that we had. We planned to keep most of the females to continue the breeding process. Leo began life with the name that described the blaze on his neck - Wings. Our first litter were all the exact same color so the only way we could tell them apart was by the blaze. As the puppies got older, his crazy antics earned him the name of Wingnut. He had a medical issue with his pallet and had to wait till he was 10 weeks old to have surgery. By that time, he was ingrained in our hearts and was one of the family. There was no way to sell him after that. His mother was Rose and she has also passed away. We lost Leo in 2019 because he developed a brain tumor and was having seizures. It was one of the hardest things we've ever had to deal with but putting him down was much easier than watching him have the seizures. He will always be in our hearts. See more

Bonnie was named Bobbi from her birth because she looked as though she had bobbi-sox on her front feet and legs. She turned out to be our wild child. She is t...he one that still starts most of the fights that erupts between the girls. So when it came time to give her the AKC registered name, we knew we had to put something in her name that showed her personality. Therefore, keeping with our tradition of giving them all flower names, we called her Daniel's Bonfire Orchid. We just had to have the name fire in there somewhere because she is definitely a spitfire. See more
