See below for info from the state. Stay updated on current weather as this system moves through the area. Remember never to try and drive through flooded roads as it only take a few inches of water to cause your vehicle to lose contact with the road.

- Special Thanks- A few months ago we were contacted by Harlem Fire Department who offered to donate some equipment that they no longer needed. They were upgrading their SCBAs ( self contained breathing apparatus) and were wanting to donate the older equipment to surrounding departments that needed them. Most of the equipment acquired by us was still well within its life expectancy and able to benefit us for many years to come. This was nearly a $20,000 donation of equipment if we were to buy it outright. A couple of weeks ago we obtained the equipment which included multiple full air packs and masks. This is a great example of how local agencies work together to help each other out. We would like to thank Harlem Fire Department and Harlem city council for the generous donation to our department!

**PSA** Earlier this evening LFD units responded to a gas leak in the area of N. Washington st and Kings way. The gas company responsible for the tank was notified and a technician was sent out to mitigate the problem. The leak has been stopped and all levels around the area are safe though you may still smell gas in that area. There is no need to report the smell.

This is is the difference between life and death in a house fire. The sense of smell is one of the first senses we lose when we fall asleep. It's important to do everything you can to protect yourself in the event that your house catches fire while you're sleeping. This also gives us more time to get inside and get you out. Sleep with you door closed!
