Our hearts are full Thank you Lowndes County, GA! We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without the support of our community partners.
Below is the weekly COVID-19 summary for our district.
ATTENTION: Due to a limited supply of COVID vaccine, Lowndes County Health Department will start contacting individuals today, January 21, to cancel appointments for those who have not yet received their first vaccination in the health department or drive thru. Individuals with appointments for their second dose will not be affected. Full release: https://southhealthdistrict.com//lowndes-county-health-de/
ATTENTION: Due to limitations on vaccine supply, we are no longer scheduling NEW appointments and are postponing the reopening of the vaccination registration survey. This suspension will be temporary. We will post to our social media and website once we are able to begin scheduling again. We apologize for the inconvenience.
If you get a call from Public Health, keep your family and community safe by answering the call. To slow the spread of COVID-19, we are calling people who may have had close contact with someone infected with #COVID19. This process is called contact tracing and has been an important function of public health for decades. Contact tracing is a community effort and we need your help. Just answer the call.
If you test positive for COVID-19, you must stay home to stop the spread of the virus. The health department will provide information to support you and your family. They will also ask you about places you have been and the people you have spent time with recently.
Today is #GlobalHandwashingDay! COVID-19 provides a stark reminder that one of the most effective ways to stop the spread of a virus is hand hygiene. To beat the virus today and ensure better health outcomes beyond the pandemic, handwashing with soap must be a priority now and in the future. No matter your role, you can celebrate Global Handwashing Day!
