On Nov 7th The Aubrey Gilbert Detachment conducted a Birthday Ball celebrating 245 years of our beloved Corps. We additionally were honored to have General Charles Wilhelm (retired) speak as our Guest of Honor. Semper Fi! To another 245 years!

Today we welcomed aboard Shayne Lopes as the newest member of the Aubrey Gillbert Marine Corps League Detachment.

Today we honored Carlos Fuller, Navy Corpsman, who 75 years ago stormed the shores of Iwo Jima with the Marines. His mission was not to bring the fight, but keep the Marines in the fight and save as many as possible who had fallen. Corpsman have always had the respect of the Marines who's lives were in their hands, and we are proud to have Carlos as a member of the Aubrey Gillbert Detachment.

Next meeting January 18th @ 1000. See you there Marines.

The U.S Marine Corps celebrated its 244th birthday on Nov. 10 and the local Aubrey Gilbert Detachment held its event at Sunset Hills. Pictured (l-r) at the head table are Colonel Erich Bergiel, guest speaker, Joanna Bergiel, Virginia Price, and Ron Price, Aubrey Gilbert Detachment Commandant. Bergiel is a professor of business at the University of West Georgia and is a member of the Gilbert Detachment. More photos to come.
