We had a great time treating local teachers last week as part of #teacherappreciationweek! We also ran a competition in our 4 centers where students could vote for their math teacher to win a $50 Amazon gift card, and the nominee would win a $10 Amazon gift card. Winner for the Islands center was student Sophia Fields who nominated Calvary Day School 4th grade teacher Ms Thornton. COMPETITION TIME!! Teacher appreciation week is always one of our favorite times when we can thank teachers for all they do for local students. With schools finishing early this year, we didn't get the chance to show them some love. So let's show them how much we appreciate them during this difficult time as they navigate the new normal with in class or online teaching. We’d like to wish this remarkable young lady, Elizabeth Sevier, all the best as she joins the Doctorate of Pharmacy program at the University of Georgia tomorrow at only 20 years old!!! Elizabeth joined Mathnasium as a middle school student at St Peter’s School just after we opened in 2011. In her own words, she wasn’t a fan of math! She was a student with us until she graduated from St Vincent’s Academy in 2018 where she completed 7 AP classes including Calculus and Statisti...cs. She got quite good at math! She studied Chemistry at Georgia Southern before being accepted into the Pharmacy program at UGA. Words can’t describe how proud we are of her achievements, and how happy we are to be a part of her journey. Congratulations Elizabeth, we are proud to call you a Mathnasium alumni and more importantly, a friend!
