Thoughts on the power of mothering... mother is a verb... not a role that determines your worth. For more, read below...
Join me tomorrow night for a live webinar on how to care for your mental and emotional wellbeing in these days and how to navigate any re-entry anxiety you might be experiencing! https://gwinnettpl.libnet.info/event/4964182
Feelings add fullness, color, and depth to life. Resist buying into the myth that feelings are unnecessary or make things more complicated.
What story are your behaviors reinforcing?
Loved chatting with Moore Love Connection! We talked about relationships in a pandemic, the importance of self awareness and speaking our needs in relationships. Ladies, I even called us out a little bit and discussed how we say we want men to be vulnerable but then don't know what to do with their vulnerability! Thanks for having me, Moore Love Connection! https://podcasts.apple.com//uncomplicating-l/id1327176772

I hope you will join us for our next Cultivate Gathering! I have been following Faith Broussard Cade's account @fleurdelisspeaks on Instagram for a while and I absolutely love it. She shares such powerful words about self love and facing difficulty. You will love hearing from her at Cultivate! More info below!
"When Dismissing is used regularly, a victim begins to feel unsafe emotionally with their partner, often in their own home. They begin to safeguard their hearts from their intimate partner because they learn that their own experiences, feelings, wants and needs won’t be valued or protected by their partner. In doing this, victims begin to stuff these things down deep, and they lose their identity and ability to recognize their own value. Thoughts on what we can change this year when so much is out of our control...
Well now, this was about the most fun I've had in a while! Last night, I had the privilege of speaking at POUR on life transitions in our 20s and 30s and reflecting on my own journey through those years. We also discussed how to care for our mental health right now and how to navigate disappointments in life. Such a rich discussion! Thank you for having me, POUR! https://www.youtube.com/watch

If that's you, then you definitely want to sign up and join along in studying "13 Things Mentally Strong Women Don't Do"! Details are below!
So honored to sit down with Clay Scroggins and discuss this all important topic of how to handle difficult relationships. 2020 has taken its toll on some of our closest relationships and I hope this webinar encourages you and gives you some new ways of thinking about your relationships. The webinar airs Wednesday night at 8:00!
Being an angry woman is a stereotype placed in the backs of women to keep them quiet and pleasing. Your anger is trying to tell you something. Listen, understand, and make changes accordingly.
Real talk: don’t give into the pressure we often feel as women to be happy and calm all the time. Your emotions- all of them- are valid, important, and necessary!
Have you registered for our virtual book study? Would love for you to join! I'll be sending out videos each week discussing that week's chapter along with a downloadable guide giving you takeaways and action steps! To register, click on link below!
Loved doing this interview with Not Another Anxiety Show! We talked about everything from the majesty of the word "somethin'" to how anger is really a secondary emotion to how easy it is to hide in our lives. We touched on how emotional awareness is the truest form of self care and about the grave that is comparison. Hope you enjoy! https://podcasts.apple.com//ep-226-living-a-/id1175495815
Important information. So many women remain in unhealthy relationships because they have become numb and desensitized to the mistreatment, manipulation, and disrespect. Abuse and unhealth can manifest in many different ways. This is a great read from The MEND Project https://themendproject.com/exposing-secret-abuse-domestic-/
My number one favorite therapy tool is a Feeling Wheel! And I am so excited to share with you that Cultivate now has its very own Feeling Wheel! Click on the link below to download your Cultivate Feeling Wheel today!
So honored and excited to share that I'm on the @MidlifeMixtape #podcast this week talking about getting rid of the RIDS, practical tips for navigating midlife mental health challenges during COVID, and music mantras. Such a fun conversation! https://midlifemixtape.com//ep-84-therapist-mazi-robinson.
Understanding surge capacity and the effects of depleted surge capacity is so important to our self care right now!
One of the things I’ve found is that women struggle to really name and claim their strengths. We’re afraid of being seen as arrogant or coming across as she thinks she’s all that. When we downplay our strengths and achievements, we play small. And when we play small, we end up feeling bored, unchallenged, resentful, and dissatisfied with our lives. When we play small, we never get to experience our full potential. Friends, name and claim your strengths. Take up all your space. Don’t hide. Don’t play small to make others feel comfortable.
In my work as a therapist, I spend a lot of time discussing unhealthy relationships and destructive relationship patterns. One of the main barriers to getting out of an unhealthy relationship or stopping/healing destructive patterns is a lack of awareness and knowledge. Often times people accept unacceptable behavior because they simply do not know better. They have been living with this behavior, they have been exposed to manipulation, abuse, and gaslighting for so long th...at it is commonplace. The behavior is no longer signaling any alarm bells and so the person doesn't realize the house is on fire, so to speak. The Power and Control Wheel is an excellent resource to help educate ourselves on destructive relationship behaviors. Once you know, once you fully realize that what is going on in your relationship is wrong, you can begin the courageous work towards healing yourself and discerning boundaries for your relationship.
So honored to be on The Workplace Therapist today! Talking about anxiety, vulnerability, and sharing a little about my own journey. Hope you'll tune in!
Join me Monday at 8AM on Facebook live with Brandon Smith and The Workplace Therapist! This is fun conversation about anxiety, vulnerability, and healthy coping!
We have to stop gaslighting ourselves... perspective should be used to ground us in reality, not deny our reality.
