We conducted the drawing for the gun raffle to benefit Lee Kirkland and family. The winner of the Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Sport II 5.56 is Glenn Giles and the winner of the Ruger 10/22 is Lamar Marshall. We would like to thank everyone who supported Lee in this fundraiser.

The fund raiser for Lee Kirkland and family will conclude with a drawing for the Smith & Wesson M & P Sport II along with a Ruger 10/22 that was donated for us to give away. The Smith & Wesson will be the first place prize and the Ruger will be the second place prize. We will draw tomorrow morning at 10:00 and will post the winners after the drawing. Tonight (10/26) McRae-Helena Firefighters along with Telfair State Prison Fire Team took the Portable Fire Extinguisher class. Thank you to the Fire Academy Instructor- J.T Jones for your time!

Local area fire departments have partnered together to conduct a fund raiser for Milan Fire Chief Lee Kirkland. Chief Kirkland has been diagnosed with cancer and the fund raiser is to assist him and his family with his treatments. We are conducting a gun raffle for a Smith & Wesson M & P Sport II in 5.56. The tickets are $10.00 each with all proceeds going to Chief Kirkland and his family. The drawing will be held as soon as all of the tickets are sold. Tickets can be purchased at the McRae-Helena Fire Department, CL Defense, or see any member of the Scotland Fire Department and the Milan Fire Department.

Over the weekend our McRae-Helena Firefighters hosted an extrication class to help us better serve our community. These skills are important for our rescue team, and we enjoyed teaming up with other departments. Enjoy some snap shots that were captured throughout the class. We would like to extend a big thank you to the great instructors we had, and also the surrounding departments for joining us. Last, but not least, a huge thank you goes it to those who made the class hands-on by donating cars: LaFavor Body Shop, Jackie Gunn Body Shop, and Raford Horton.
