Captain Matt Williams of Miss Judy Charters says, We still got a whiting bite in the sound! The best bait to used is small pieces of shrimp peeled or not!

Captain Garrett Ross of Miss Judy Charters says, It is time to book your fall dates to catch trophy red fish! The Inshore Fish Bite! The inshore bite continues to get better and better! And the best news is that spring/summer conditions set in, this bite will get even more predictable. The best news is when all of the warming takes place feeding and holding patterns fall more in line fish are easier to locate. It also allows us fishers to be able to get a better opportun...ity to be more catching efficient! Well, enough about all of that! The bottom line is this for sure, purchase or catch yourself some live shrimp and just plain go fishing! The best news is there is a lot more chance for catching than just plain old fishing! Now it is up to you how your present your live shrimp. There are more than several ways to get the job done: When going the float your bait into the strike zone I suggest going with some sort of a float apparatus’ meaning popping corks or the old time adjustable traditional floats. And if you are the type that likes to go fishing naked then this is the time to give this a try. Now, don’t got think I am suggest removing your clothes, because I am not. But if you tie your leader only with hook attached directly to your main line, hook your shrimp up under its horn and allow it to swim where it thinks it is safe that is just about where the fish you are wanting to catch will be waiting! A long sentence, but the darn truth can be found in it! Give it a try! See more

Captain Ali Young 1955-2021 is holding a beautiful Yahoo Wahoo that was just taken out the water! This fish is sporting some very nice Wahoo lights! Captain Ali was a kind of no nonsense gal, especially when working the back deck of the boat. I remember this one time where she had on more than several times told a customer not to let the sinker hit the boat! As time when on her voice became sterner and sterner. And then it happened, the sinker did not hit the boat it h...it Captain Ali in the face. What happened next could have gone either way! The customer’s sinker hit Captain Ali and Captain Ali instantly cold cocked the customer! Once seeing this happen, I left my helm chair not knowing what the customer’s next move might be! Silence loomed and just like a switch was turned on everyone in the group started laughing while saying, She told you not to do that stupid! This move turned a-would be unavoidable incident into a laughing affair. No one will ever know how relieved I really was! Got to love the fishing nineties! Why? Not so complicated! Thanks for reading! Captain Judy

While offshore bottom fishing in about 60 feet of water Casey Yewn age 10 Hazlehurst, Georgia caught some pretty nice genuine red snapper! Here are just two of the soon to be released specimens! Exactly, how many were there? I stopped counting at 60! Please meet numbers 59 and 60!

Miss Judy Charters 07.12.2020

I know there is supposedly a shortage of assorted sizes of genuine red snapper! However, on this day as well as quite a few fish days before they were plentiful! Chuck Yewn Hazlehurst, Georgia is holding up a double hooked up genuine red snapper header, which wasn’t his first or his last. I (Captain Judy) kept moving and I know this sound crazy, but so did the genuine red snapper! Or maybe there are just that many! The release count for genuine snapper on this day was just about 60 fish! No I am not kidding!

Miss Judy Charters 24.11.2020

It was a family fishing affair on board the Miss Judy Too! The Yewn’s of Hazlehurst Georgia Grandfather Chester, Casey age 10, his father Chuck, and older brother Carter age 12 put a hurting on the fish! The fact of the matter is all they did was fish, catch, keep, release, and repeat! It was a very busy fish catching day!

Check out that blue sky! First mate Alli DeYoung, Casey Yewn age 10 Hazlehurst, Georgia, and Captain Kathy Brown of Miss Judy Charters are just plain showing off their grand fishing smiles! Casey just caught this nice black sea bass while doing a little bottom fishing! And here’s the thing about this trip, Casey might have been the youngest, but he caught the most fish!

Miss Judy Charters 01.11.2020

Artificial Reefs! Yep, we got king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, little tunny, and blue fish! All fish listed love to hit something skinny! So what does this mean? Bring on the BLING! Savannah Snapper Banks... Only go if you want to get you best options at catching lots of fish! Gulf Stream Still waiting on the edge to form!

Miss Judy Charters 30.10.2020

Tate Gibbons age 7 Athens, Georgia and his father Wil Canada experienced some pretty interesting bottom fishing! What does that mean? Well, they dropped their two hook bottom rigs to the bottom. If they didn’t get a hit, they would reel up 10 turns (equaling 10 feet) and re-drop, which produced at least 90 percent of the time a bite! Why? Reeling up and re-dropping creates the sand storm effect. When a 16 ounce sinker hits the bottom it is going to make a stir, which brings... on the interest of fish! Why? When the bottom gets stirred it usually means that there is a fish is making this happen. Any fish within seeing distance will come to the area looking for a possible feeding opportunity! And you know the old saying, Where there is one fish, there are more fish! Well, let’s hope so! Savannah Snapper Banks Grouper season is now only a few weeks from closing, but you still have time. The season closes the last day of this month! The grouper gangs are the Gags and the Scamps! Gags also known as charcoal bellies and Scamps also known as broom tails both are ready to eat! Gulf Stream Winter Bite! Come on down! It‘s winter time and so is the blue water bite! What does that mean? One way or the other you can catch fish. This past week a few blue water anglers caught some nice peanut but legal Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, and black fin tuna. And if you can’t get a top water bite while trolling there is always jigging over the ledges and bottom fishing! You really never come home with the fish box empty! Why? Way too many fishing options! Make it your goal to know what they are!

Miss Judy Charters 29.10.2020

While inshore fishing with Captain Matt Williams of Miss Judy Charters Marie and Georgia Hill Rincon, Georgia had one serious fish catching keeping time! So what’s for quite a few lunches and dinners? Red Flounder then there is slot red fish and over legal size spotted sea trout! So I guess you could say and I will, it looks like there are several spotted sea trout, and red fish dinners coming their way! And of course one crispy scored flounder or fried flounder parts! No matter how you cook it, it is going to be so very good!

Miss Judy Charters 17.10.2020

Plain Old Bottom Fishing In the Sound! While inshore fishing in the sound with Captain Ken Kennickell of Miss Judy Charters Adam of Flowery Branch, Georgia caught this beautiful trophy red fish! Now this big fish put up quite a fight, smiled for this picture, and was safely released back to the wild! What does this mean to all the other fishermen fishing in the Wassaw Sound? There is still hope and of course this fish is still growing! For those of you that wonder why fish...ing is so exciting in the sound well, it is due to the fact you really never know what you might catch. I have always said this when fishing in the ocean for sure. And here’s the thing, while fishing in the sound is not the ocean, it is only a short boat ride away. This means all the fish offshore can swim inshore anytime that they like! Whiting Calling Card! How do you know when you’re got a whiting bite? It is simple this is the only bottom fish that I know of that peels its shrimp before eating it. As you can see from the hook above the old whiting ate the meat of the shrimp and left the shell right on the hook. When a customer brings this in I always say, That’s a whiting bite! and then I say, Let me bait you back up and please drop back in the small exact spot! Why? Because normally when you catch one whiting or just get a bite there is always more action to come! Whiting Plight! Just like in the spring we catch lots of whiting while plain old bottom fishing in the sound. Well, believe it or not, but fall is upon us and the whiting bite is back! What does this mean? We GOT WHITING in the sound! What is the best bait to used? Small pieces of cut shrimp

While inshore fishing with Captain Kevin Rose of Miss Judy Charters the Akin brothers three had one heck of a grand fish catching time! From left to right: Tom Akin Colorado, Gary Akin Bluffton, SC, Rich Akin Bluffton, SC, and Captain Kevin What’s on the fish cleaning table? A serious inshore tasting for sure! A serious flounder pounder! Captain Matt Williams of Miss Judy Charters and Joselyn Nelson Southern Virginia are both sporting some serious fish catching smiles. Joselyn caught this beautiful flounder while in spotted sea trout fishing mode. According to Joselyn it felt more like a snag before it acted like a fish! And as we all know that is exactly how this fish rolls! What did it eat? Live shrimp! On October 23 2020 Friday Captain Matt William of Miss Judy Charter took Jocelyn Nelson and family from Southern Virginia on a very interesting fish catching situation! Jocelyn is holding a large flounder that she caught all on her own!

Miss Judy Charters 27.08.2020

While chartering an inshore learning/fishing trip with Captain Garrett Ross of Miss Judy Charters Gracie Mae Debrenceny age 9 Savannah, Georgia (and her father Anthony) had a very wonderful time! She is holding two nice red fish and a sheepshead, which once cleaned were headed straight to the dinner table! Gracie got a firsthand view of inshore fishing, catching, baiting hooks, a little about boat handling, and yep, and cleaning fish also! The full meal learning deal!

Miss Judy Charters 11.08.2020

My long time friend Dr. Brian Kornblatt took his nephew Zack Kornblatt Colorado Springs went inshore fishing with Captain Kevin Rose of Miss Judy Charters. As you can see Zack did catch a big trophy red fish and of course Captain Kevin showed him the way! Zack just graduated from the Air Force Academy and is now a second lieutenant in the air force. He starts his pilot training in November! And just so you all know...Dr. Kornblatt is proud of his nephew’s accomplishments... and so are we! I hope when Zack starts flying that he will tip his wing when he is doing a fly by over us in the ocean! Inshore Fishing Report! The pictures in this week’s fishing report tell a very good story! If I had to narrow this report down to one thing I would have to say, It definitely is time to go inshore fishing for spotted sea trout, red fish, and flounder! Yep, the proof is in the pictures and those fishermen posing for them! Let talk about bait! Live Shrimp! I know I sound like a broken record when it comes to talking about live shrimp, but the truth is the truth! Live shrimp, fresh dead shrimp, or fresh dead shrimp parts are darn good bait, but then there is that certain sequent factor to plug in! First, I suggest getting the bite a going with the live shrimp while keeping any fresh dead or parts on the side. When the bite seems steady and of course, you’re live shrimp source starts to dwindle I suggest baiting up with the occasion stand by bait. Now I don’t suggest putting these whole and parts of fresh shrimp back into the live well! I always suggest leaving them out to air and sundry. What does this do? Seals in the juices..and what happens once introduce back into the water...well this bait becomes a grand fish attractant! Mullet Just like in those old Westerns movies wanted dead or alive! The old mullet whether it is fresh dead or been frozen dead a while works great whole or when you slice up like a loaf of bread! It is best to air dry any parts of this bait. Fish don’t run from this smell produced they exactly migrate to it, which is a darn big plus! Mullet can come in finger to large sizes. All sizes will work! The biggest secret is the presentation! What does this mean? Finger mullet work great alive and dead whole. Larger mullet works best when cut up like a load of bread, which means they become choice cuts for a fish. Red fish love this smell and you can believe it if you are close to the fish they are goanna come and visit! Or should I say, Come to eat!

Jacob Childers Kingston, Georgia is showing off his double trigger fish hook up! Two nice ones for sure! What do we have here? 4 nice fillets And if you kept the trigger fish’s skin, dried it in the sun, it would make some of the best sand paper either. Or if you ever got stranded shoeless on a deserted island trigger fish skins makes some great make shift shoes. It is suggested to tie damp skins on your feet and then take a nap in the sun! While getting 40 winks the sun will dry the skins and they will become form fitting to your feet. What does all of this boil down too? CFFPFC....Comfortable form fitting protective feet coverings! Can you say that fast! Oh, go on, give it a try!

Miss Judy Charters 30.05.2020
