From MPV-Boston: It’s our third year co-presenting LGBTQA+ films for Wicked Queer Film Festival. These films are life changing for many LGBTQA Muslims and it is one of the most effective outreach for our community. This year, this festival is virtual which means we can share this opportunity with you all, YAY!!!!!! . Once you register , you get a 24 hour access to the film that you pick. We are co-presenting all four films for them. This film festival is small but I found th...em to be very inclusive for Muslims LGBT film makers and the local communities like us. Please share with as many community members as you can. We need more and more people to buy tickets so that these amazing volunteers keep doing wicked queer film festival and touching more hearts and minds. Thank you again for your support! From MASGD: We invite our black members to a healing event on Monday, June 8th from 8-9:30 pm EST. This will be hosted on Zoom by three of our community leaders: Mar Aziz, Saif Wideman and Terna (Tayna) Tilley-Gyado. The goal of this event is to provide a healing space for Black LGBTQ+ Muslims to grieve in community. The program will include collective dhikr, meditation and art-making. Folks will also be welcome to take part in a janaza prayer for our folks lost to state-sanctioned violence, and anyone you may be grieving. "Racism is not just an individualized problem; therefore, its solution cannot be limited to the individual level. As an ummah, we need to approach our cultures ...with a critical lens and strengthen them by removing toxic attitudes and practices (like racism). This change needs to happen at home, as well as at the communal level; and this is precisely where MuslimARC steps in. The education-oriented programming and tools provided by MuslimARC make anti-racism work feasible and widely accessible and that is a (small) revolution that we can all partake in."https://members.muslimarc.org/ See more
