The celebration of this day started as a way to commemorate the first large shipment of 1,000 bags of coffee (approx. 132,000 lbs) from Jamaica to Japan back in 1967. Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee was first shipped directly to Japan in March of 1953 by Keble Munn, whose family at the time, owned the Mavis Bank Coffee Factory. Our founder, Edgar Munn, is the nephew of Keble Munn. This wonderfully magical beverage has since been offered to the rest of the world. To celebrate Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Day, we will be offering Arthur McGowan’s Trumpet Tree Coffee Factory 100% Blue Mountain Coffee at 15% off of our regular price through 1/17.
