This is an example of how our current system has been set up to create fear instead of confidence in new mothers. The first time I breastfed I was 16 years old and I had no problems. I believe that happened because I watched my mother breastfeed my younger siblings. I saw it as normal. I believe that feeling of normal has been seriously skewed. Be gentle with yourselves mamas and try not to let the negativity from providers (who are often not trained in breastfeeding) fill you with doubt. Hang in there!!!
