First up in our "strangest things to do with ashes" series is DIAMONDS. Did you know that you can have your loved one's ashes pressed into a diamond!? Even a pink or blue diamond! What do you think? Few things on this earth last longer than a diamond (#diamondsareforever). Would you want to be a diamond? If so, what cut and color would you choose? It doesn't come cheap, but more and more companies are offering this service and it's becoming increasingly popular each... year. Want to learn more about the process and the cost? Here are some links to guides on "ashes to diamonds", the companies, and their processes. https://cremationinstitute.com/cremation-diamonds-guide/ https://www.lifegem.com/index.php#thefourcsBM https://www.lonite.com/cremation-ashes-into-diamonds/ #ecodiamonds #recycling #wearinggrandma #diamondsareforever
Death and taxes are inevitable, and since taxes will never be fun, some people have decide to make death more entertaining. In the coming weeks we'll be highlighting some interesting things you can have done with cremation ashes (besides putting grandma's urn on your fireplace). This collage should give you some clues. Any guesses?

What happens when an eccentric millionaire dies without a will? Zappos founder Tony Hsieh left a mess of an estate worth hundreds of millions of dollars including deals scrawled on thousands of Post-it notes covering his walls (each of which may or may not be an enforceable contract!?). Without a will to work with, Hsieh's family is trying to trace his full worth and recent business dealings without a roadmap to the assets. Justin H. Brown, a partner at the law firm Tr...outman Sanders LLP, told the media that the sticky notes could be a crucial sticking point. You’re going to have to look at each specific sticky note and decide if it’s a contract is it binding? Was he in the correct state of mind did he have the capacity to even enter a contract? Stay tuned to see what happens in this nail biting probate saga! #hotmess https://www.wsj.com//sorting-out-tony-hsiehs-estate-from-l https://nypost.com//tony-hsieh-left-behind-sticky-notes-c/
Would anyone be surprised to hear that this happened after a holiday weekend with the in-laws? (Kidding, but not really. I get some very entertaining calls about changing wills after the holidays!)
Happy Squirrel Appreciation Day from our office mascot, Fig Newton! Our thanks again to Savannah Wildlife Rescue Center for getting him all fixed up and released back into the wild! #AlphaGammaDelta #squirrelsandpearls #hepeedonmyfavoritesuit
At the end of each estate plan, we record a "Legacy Interview" to add to the client's digital estate plan. This interview captures what a client really wants their family to know, do, be, love, and remember. I've heard the most heartwarming stories and life advice. It's my favorite part of my job and this week's Legacy Interviews really took the cake! I had a father of grown children bring his kids favorite bedtime stories and read them at the end of the interview and anot...her dad who brought his guitar and sang a song for his kids at the end of his interview. My heart is so full! If you are getting together with older family members this season, I encourage you to record your own "Legacy Interview" with them. One day that recording will be priceless to your family. Imagine sharing your grandmother's stories with YOUR grandchildren. Or imagine sharing your life story with your great grandchildren. For some ideas on questions to ask in a legacy interview, check out the comment section! Who do you want to (or wish you had) interviewed and what would you like to ask them?
