THANK YOU for all of the love you have showed us this week! Mrs. Melanee gave each amazing OCA staff person a gift bag, and we have had so much sweet stuff, cards, flowers, and other tokens of appreciation brought in by our wonderful families. We are honored to be a part of your life every day of the year!

It is National Teacher Appreciation Week and OCA showed some love to the amazing teachers, administrators and staff in our Oglethorpe County School System. We delivered Cookie Cakes to the Board Office, all four schools, bus drivers and the IT Dept. Cookie Cakes make everybody smile! We are so proud to be a small part of this wonderful education community. OCA s Teachers!

We try to never miss an opportunity to add excitement and new experiences to our days. We found a frog on our playground. Miss Chloe let the children see and touch and learn before she took it to safety outside of the fence. The children were thrilled and so intrigued. Don’t you just love their curious and engaged faces?

We were sure to be impacted at some point. Out of an abundance of caution and to try to nip this in the bud, OCA will be CLOSED all next Christmas week. Hopefully everyone will come back happy, HEALTHY, and refreshed! Please feel free to share. Thank you!

Merry week before Christmas from OCA. Thank you for all of the stocking goodies and love you show us every day of the year!

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT UPDATE TO OUR OPERATIONS THIS WEEK. The School System is making the rest of this week, W-Th-F, optional attendance days. However, the school IS allowing any parent who needs to be able to work, or for whatever other reason, to send their child to school those days UNLESS THEIR CHILD’S CLASS HAS BEEN QUARANTINED. THEREFORE, OCA will be operating as usual for school days and school age children the remainder of this week. We will have Afterschool ONLY the ...remainder of this week. There will be no Camp Days for school age children until next week. Parents have the option to send their child to school, so we encourage those needing full day care to send your child to school as normal and then come over here for afterschool as normal. In addition, for attendance in our school-age Holiday Camp next M-T-W, parents will be required to sign a no exposure and no quarantine statement before their school age child can attend. We all despise this virus. We all dislike the quarantine and other methods implemented to avoid the virus spread. Because we have at risk staff and small children in our building, we simply MUST do everything within our power to protect them. We know you all understand. We appreciate our families and we love our kiddos. Our OCA Family is working hard to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem. OCA will follow our school system's guidance and make Pre-K attendance for the remainder of this week optional. We will grant automatic excused absences for families who are choosing to keep your child home for safety reasons. PLEASE DO NOTE: if your school age child has been quarantined from their class at school, we CANNOT take them here either! We also do not want to expose or spread this virus. Please be honest and ethical and do not attempt to send your school age child ...to OCA if they are being quarantined because of an exposure in their class at school. We will explore permanently dismissing families if we discover this has occurred. We have at risk teachers and children in our building who we are also trying to protect. Everyone wants to be able to enjoy Christmas. PLEASE: Let's all be part of the solution and not part of the problem! See more
