Do you have federal student loans? Your time on active duty could count for public service loan forgiveness.

Did you know we have yearbooks, memorabilia, and programs dating back to the 1940s on the members' page of the OCS Alumni Association website? But we don't have all of the yearbooks and programs. If you have a yearbook that's not in our archives, we'd love for you to scan and send us a digital copy so we can preserve our history. For more information, please contact the Association at our website contact information: https://ocsalumni.org/contact/ ... https://ocsalumni-archives.org

An OCS Christmas story from graduate Orie Illi, Class 1-78, 50th Company. We had a TAC Officer, 1LT Sears, who looked like SGT Bilco the character that was made famous by Phil Silvers. Well, candidates being candidatesand Christmas coming up a song was composed about him (sung to Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer). Bilko, the Bald-Headed TAC... Had a very shiny head And if you ever saw him, you would even swear he’s dead All of the other TACs used to laugh and call him names They never let poor Bilko join in any TAC games Then one foggy Christmas Eve Ripperger came to say Bilko with your head so bright, won’t you lead my candidates tonight Now all the TACs love him And they shouted out with glee Bilko the bald-headed TAC you’ll go down in history! The 50th Company Commander, CPT Ripperger, heard about the song and, as surprise to 1LT Sears, had the company sing it before we went on Christmas leave. 1LT Sears took it in stride and then found out that I was, in large part, responsible for the song. While he was not my TAC, he made sure (for the rest of my time at OCS) that I had enough demerits to ensure that my weekends were spent marching them off. But IT WAS WORTH IT!

The Defense Department launched the Military In Lasting Tribute online memorial, which recognizes service members who died while serving honorably on active duty from 1985 to the present. It is the only DoD memorial to include peacetime deaths.

Join the Director of the National Museum of the United States Army for a virtual panel discussion of Army values on March 2 at 1900 EST. Soldiers are expected to live the Army values every day and in everything they do on and off duty. A commitment to these values also form a foundation for a culture of teamwork, excellence and respect, which in turn, contributes to a strong and ready Army that can improvise, adapt, and overcome. https://www.thenmusa.org/museum-directors-seminar-series/
