Attention Oakland Families: We will have a "Have a Great Summer Parade" on Tuesday, May 26th at Noon. Please drive through the front parking lot, through car rider drop off lane, and exit onto Hwy 81. Please remain in your vehicle as your drive around the car loop. We will end the parade at 12:45 PM. If we don't see you, please have a GREAT summer!

Welcome to our 2019-20 Spring Parent Input Meeting.

Our students love to share their artwork done during the Specials Class. Each day, many of our students engage with our teachers in PE: Coach Arena, Art: Ms. Coleman, Media Specialist: Ms. Maddox, and Music: Ms. Gray to complete work outs, art projects, sign alongs, and different events like cooking and gardening. Today included Earth Day pictures and sweet birthday messages. We are looking forward to tomorrow's treasures!!

Look at this great artwork from our Pre-K student Karsyn! Parents, we would love to see all of the great things that you are doing! Please share those moments with us. You can email pictures to Ms. Maddox, Ms. Coleman or Mrs. M. Hall and we will get them uploaded. We love seeing the creativity!

Update on Meals: Spring Break: Through the generosity of Operation Lunchbox, the Chris Tucker Foundation, and other community partners, meals will still be served at the same time (11am - 1pm), Monday through Friday of Spring Break. The meals will also be served at the same six locations - Hampton MS, Locust Grove ES, McDonough MS, Oakland ES, Stockbridge MS, and Wesley Lakes ES. After Spring Break:... We will serve meals through the remainder of the academic calendar year which ends in May. Meals will still be served at the same locations and the same times (11am - 1pm), but the days of service will change. We will now move to a Monday, Wednesday, Friday service plan. On Mondays and Wednesdays, each student will receive 2 lunches and 2 breakfasts, and on Fridays, each student will receive 1 lunch and 1 breakfast. Each student will still get the same amount of lunch and breakfast as before, but we will be doubling the amount received on Mondays and Wednesdays. We look forward to serving you all through this extended closure! We are encouraging you and your family to connect with us by participating in our Virtual Spirit Week! Post your pictures on social media using the hashtag #OKEspiritweek. Monday, 4/13: Wear your favorite color. Be prepared to tell why you like that color. Tuesday, 4/14: Tacky Day- G...et your tacky on by wearing mix-match clothes. To our Oakland community: 1. Thanks for all that have joined their classrooms and are completing the work. Google Meets is a great way to connect with each other and get help with your work. Congratulations to Oakland Reading Bowl Students who tied for 4th place in the county competition. Help us congratulate the following fifth grade students for participating in the 4-H CPA- County Project Achievement at McDonough High School. Jizelle Barner Christine Carter Zeren Dennis Gilbert... Zoe Dennis Gilbert Joshua Salgado. Christine Carter and Joshua Salgado are both 1st place winners and will advance to the District Level at Rock Eagle in Putnam County. Way to go Oakland Owls!!
