BIG NEWS! . We are beyond excited to announce the arrival of our new Executive Chef, Masatomo Hamaya. . Chef Masa was born in Tokyo and spent most of his childhood in Japan before moving to the US to attend Arizona State University. When he returned to Japan, he rediscovered that people eat for more that survival and convenience, and he wanted to share that culture with American people.... Chef Masa is joining the @okuatlanta and @theindigoroad family with years of sushi experience under his belt. Chef Masa was sushi chef and worked under the 2011 James Beard Award winning Chef, Tyson Cole at Uchiko in Austin, TX. He also spent time at the Michelin Star restaurant, Ame in San Francisco, CA. . Chef Masa loves that Japan is blessed with it’s nature, meat, seafood and produce. He believes his style brings out seasonal, bold flavors while still keeping with the tradition of Japanese food culture. .
