Basically, the IRS has messed up again. I tried telling this to people but its very hard for some to understand. We as tax professionals know what goes on in the background its not as simple as you think. Our business account has to be with an IRS approved bank. Republic, Santa Barbara, TPG, or Meta Bank. Those digital currency runs in the background automatically. The split of funds to the preparers business account also goes on in the background & payroll also goes on in di...gital world background as well. So if your tax preparer is set up legit... No funds really go to a person's hands or personal checking. We are also on payroll even if we own a business 1099 employ ourselves whatever and we do not see any money except payroll. (& that's also digital). However once the funds are disbursed it can bounce back immediately or couple days who Knows. The Bank then processes the check and mail out as a check to the mailing address on file. Many still won't understand and the IRS is still telling people to the account on file. Without reassuring them of how this process actually works. So no we do not have checks the IRS bank we do partner with may have the digital money not a paper check or actual money yet. They will attempt to send to digital preparers account but it will not work and bounce back digitally and then the bank will preparer a paper check format currency that will be mailed to the address on file. If the address has changed you would need to forward your mail to the correct address at your nearest Post Office. There is no direct number we have to the IRS we are just preparers. No way we can send in something to change the address the IRS is like a one way street. One social per push. Lol. Anyway trying to mail the IRS a change of address from won't work because mail at the IRS is months behind. Doesn't make since to call the bank the preparer uses because I'm sure they wont change it either over privacy concerns. So all you could do is wait. We are waiting right along with you all. We are not the IRS they made the mistake just like last time and not giving a whole truth. A tax business or tax preparers will not have stimulus. There can be cases that digitally process which is illegal on the IRS part and the IRS will owe you anything that has been taken out by the bank fee or preparers fee because they cannot send your money to a preparer. The preparer has no control over what the digital world is programmed to do. Remeber automatic digital currency is running the background.
