The Reverend Dr. Jesse Jackson spoke at the State House in Trenton, New Jersey, however, I am not exactly sure of the year. I was teaching at Junior High School... No. 3 at the time. The man in the trench coat was one of his body guards, and there were several. I remember how they formed a fence all around him as he entered and departed the State House. Afterwards, a reception was held across the street from the State House and I went over there. The paparazzi was taking up all of his time and I sat down at a nearby table. He excused himself from the newspaper lady and came over and sat with me, at which time he signed my Black Heritage Family Bible that I had bought in Hollywood, CA. There was a section dedicated to famous Blacks and he signed on his page. That was amazing! See more

I was privileged to share the pulpit with him at Howard University for National Association of Black Seminarians programs. I was then the President of Black Seminarians at Princeton Theological Seminary. Also, I was honored to speak with him one on one at the luncheon following his speech at the State House in Trenton, New Jersey. Awesome experiences for an awesome living legend of the Civil Rights Movement. Thirdly, he and his sons attended the Progressive National Baptist Convention, along with many other famous blacks. The church that I attended at that time was a member of NCPB and traveling with the convention was a great way to vacation while studying and praising God! Have a very happy birthday Reverend Jackson!

Greetings! I am the pastor of Payton AME Church, Valdosta (Clyattville), Georgia. I was appointed on September 8, 2020 and it is an honor and privilege to serve with the great members of Payton. I trust that the blessings of God will rain down upon us and that our bright light will lead others to Christ. We will be live streaming in the near future, zooming, and YouTube. Currently we are meeting twice per week on conference call. 10:00 AM on Sunday morning and 6:00 PM on Wedn...esday evening for bible study which is led by one of our members.
