Calling A strong inner impulse toward a particular course of action especially when accompanied by conviction of divine influence." Do you know your calling? Or is it more like a dream right now? Thankfully, our first calling is to Jesus, not a role or talent or place. What freedom we have knowing that we are called to know Him and bring Him glory! In addition to Session Four, the Calling session found in the #FLOURISHMentoring book, we had the amazing pleasure to unpack a little bit of this idea with these three strong and inspiring women: @mzpartytime (seen in this clip), @susancpete, and @barbrice7. Take a look at this full video and more free mentoring resources at flourishmentor.com!

How's the #FLOURISH-ing going, girls? As we follow Jesus + ask Him to help us flourish where we're planted, the fruits of His Spirit become the result of His work in our lives. The word "fruit" can also mean "deed or action", meaning that these fruits are specific moves we take as we are walking in the Spirit. What a challenge (for you and for us!), to wholeheartedly rely on Jesus as the vine, praying our branches would bear His fruit. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, ...joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law." [Galatians 5:22-23, ESV] See more

Paul wrote Romans as a letter to give practical instruction on how to live as followers of Jesus. His God-breathed instructions show us that we can walk in daily confidence that no matter what we're facing, NOTHING can separate us from the love of our Father. Praise God that our fears, worries, doubts they’re all ultimately conquered by *the* Conqueror, King Jesus ! "And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrownot even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love." Romans 8:38, NLT

Happy Friday, Grove Girls! Here's another SOAP journey as a helpful reminder to not worry about anything, but instead, pray about everything. S: "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are j...ust, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things.'" Philippians 4:6-8 O: Paul, formerly Saul, a persecutor of believers, is writing to the believers in Philippi to give encouragement and instruction on Christian unity as well as how to be truly joyful and how to receive peace through prayer and praise. A: I'm always blown away by Paul's ability to move on, accept Christ forgiveness, and do what he was assigned by our Lord. I think if I had persecuted believers only to find out I was wrong, I would live with a lifetime of guilt and a joyless existence. But Paul moves forward into his calling! A few years back, I really struggled with anxiety. It's difficult to explain what it's like to someone who has never experienced anxiety. It can be debilitating... it was for me. I memorizing Scripture and reciting Philippians 4: 6-8 daily, truly helped me live this out. God wants the best life for us, according to His will, and I'm so thankful for the instruction He gives us in Scripture. P: Father, I come to you with thanksgiving and praise. Praise for the gift of today, for your amazing creation, for friends, family, pets, Scripture, music and so much more. Thank you for all you have taught me about living joyfully, and I pray for those who need to memorize and live out Philippians 4:6-8.

The busyness of life makes it easy for most of us to submit to the grip of anxiety, worry, and control. Matthew 6 reminds us that instead of worry - about anything - we can seek the Lord and His righteousness, and submit to His care that provides all that we need. When we stop to remember, it’s easy to see His plans are far greater than our own! "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." [Matthew 6:33-34]
