With Hurricane Zeta heading toward Georgia, here are a few suggestions for being prepared and staying safe. 1. Clear your yard. Make sure there’s nothing that could blow around during a storm and damage your home. Move bikes, lawn furniture, grills, propane tanks, and building material inside or under shelter. 2. Secure windows and doors, and check weather sealing.... 3. Move cars to higher ground or park them in your garage against the garage doors. Do not park under trees, power lines or in low-lying areas. 4. Be ready to turn off your power. If you see flooding, downed power lines, or you have to leave your home, switch your power off.
